The stethoscope is my guide; I shall not err.
It alloweth me to perceive with ease.
It leadeth me to thine heart trouble.
It reassureth my prognosis.
It guideth me directly to pulmonary ailments for my patient’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of diagnosis,
I shall fear no misinterpretation, for it art with me.
Its binaural ends and its bell, the comfort me.
It prepareth me in the midst of the hospital.
It hast anointed my charts with figures.
My data runneth over.
Surely cardiac rhythm and respiratory normalcy
Shall follow me all the days of my life.
And I shall dwell in the use of my stethoscope forever.
