ALLERGY SEASON

(to the tune: “You Are My Sunshine”)

Again, it’s springtime

            The grass is growing

And as the rains go

            My snout is blowing

                        I’ve got the itches

                        As my nose twitches

                                    (I know)

The season of allergy is here.

(CHORUS)

Oh, we’ve got flowers

Through all the hours,

And all the pets’ hair

Adrift in the air,

Clean up the dust dear

And make it fresh here,

Won’t you take my allergies away?

Last week I’m crying

            I started sneezing

And now I’m coughing

            Soon I’ll be wheezing

                        I have the belief

                        I’ll find no relief

                                    (I fear)

The season of allergy is here.

(CHORUS)

Went to the drugstore

            To get some help right

Scanning through all shelves

            At many cures bright

                        But as the druggist sniffed

I knew that I was miffed

The season of allergy is here.

(CHORUS)

So then I packed my bags

            To Arizona land

Where all the experts say

            No allergies are planned

But when I saw the lawns

                        And allergists abound

(I knew)

The season of allergy is here.

(CHORUS)
