FINDING HEALTH

There are many things that interfere with our good health. On the other hand, it’s exciting and energizing to recognize that we can choose to address a few of these attackers and work to counteract them. The more you control the little things, the more life’s big things will be controlled.

What are we up against in our paths through living?

Many people worry about their genetic imperfections. These are usually not inevitabilities. They are potentialities. Without having to change our genes, we can minimize the expression of these possible problems by improving overall health.

Radiation exposure. There is natural radiation in the environment which is almost impossible to avoid. It does cause damage to our tissues. We can fortify the cells and organs to reduce injury.

Toxins in the environment. We can work to clean these up and avoid contact. We can strengthen our bodies to make them more resistant to poisons.

The aging processes. There is a lot we can do to slow this and its ravages. Stretching, effective and adequate sleep, aerobic exercise, vitamin and mineral supplementation, stress and anxiety reduction, reducing dietary fat, weight control, laughter, avoiding destructive substances (nicotine, alcohol, drugs of abuse), and supporting good intestinal health are just a few actions we can take. Aging can be slowed and compensated for.

Our necessary and protective inflammatory system is at the core of almost every illness we experience. From sinus allergies to cancer, inflammation plays a prominent role. We can reduce these effects by eating a low-fat diet, controlling body weight, supplementing our food with enzymes, and exercise. The latter includes walking.

Free radicals are the natural byproducts of metabolism. These chemicals cause damage to our tissues, leading to illness. Taking antioxidant supplements helps to counteract their harmful effects. Some helpful ones include Vitamin C, bioflavonoids, CoEnzyme Q-10, l-glutathione, and n-acetylcysteine.

Cigarette smoking. Everyone knows this one. Stopping is easier said than done. It can and should be accomplished.

Inadequate hydration. Most people do not drink enough fluids. Hot, cold, and dry environments exacerbate this problem. Drink a little more than you do. This does not include alcoholic or caffeinated beverages, which are diuretics and make you lose water.

Anxiety and stress cause, worsen, and prolong illnesses. Learn and practice meditation to overcome these influences. There are books, tapes, videos online and in libraries, and classes wherein you can learn to meditate. Make it a consistent part of your life.

Injuries drain energy from your body, making it more susceptible to disease. Most are preventable. Forethought may seem like an impossible endeavor. It is not. Anyone can spend time trying to foresee problems in the tasks of the day. For example, always watch where you step when walking. There is a lot to trip you up. If you want to look around, stop and enjoy the scenery. Another example is to not carry too much at one time.  Make several trips.

Imbalances in the Microflora Organ. The microbes that constitute our microflora function as an organ. For many reasons, this organ gets out of balance for our body’s needs. These changes lead to health problems. Lactobacillus Acidophilus, L. Bifidus, and Saccharomyces Boulardii are the most important of these supplements needed to maintain the vigor and vitality of this important support system.

Gravity brings us down. It contributes to arthritis problems, especially in the hips, knees, ankles, and feet. Gravity causes lots of pain. It is responsible for injuries as we lift things or fall down. You know we can’t get rid of gravity. But we can fight its tendency to damage us by being strong and stretched.

Nighttime exposures in the bedroom can lead to reduced resistance and increased illness. Read my blog about the bedroom from August,1, 2021.

Infectious diseases are great hazards to health. There are so many of them. They cause a wide spectrum of illness. We can increase resistance  using multiple strategies. I have discussed these techniques in my book of healthy practices, “If Everybody Says I Look So Good, Then Why Do I Feel So Terrible?” Download this informative publication for free at my website: www.drjackzoldan.com . Other specific strategies are described in my blog: www.soulbodydrz.com
