THINGS THAT MAKE LIFE EASIER AND HEALTHIER – Part 7

Do you wear shoes with shoelaces? Are you tired of them untying themselves? Is it a big hassle to untie a secure double knot?

Well, then, tie your shoelaces like this:

  1. Take the ends of the laces, pull them snug, then loop one lace around the other.
  2. Before pulling it tight. loop the end around a second time.
  3. Now pull both free ends tight
  4. Make a loop with one free lace.
  5. make a loop with the other free lace.
  6. Loop one of the loops around the other loop as you always do.
  7. Before pulling it tight. loop that loop around one more time.
  8. So now you’ve looped one loop around the other twice, just as you did with the free laces initially.
  9. Pull the two loops and tighten the knot securely.
  10. If it’s tight, it should hold.
  11. To release, just pull on one of the free laces and the entire assembly will come apart. It is important to make sure that no free lace is passing through either of the loops, or a knot will form. This step is easier than undoing the traditionally tied double knot.

Easy, huh?

When you travel, bring along a few plastic bags that seal. They come in handy. Also, take a larger plastic bag to use as a laundry bag, dirty shoe container, or to keep something in your suitcase isolated and clean.

If you get blisters on your feet easily, try wearing two socks on each foot. The inner stocking should be thin, like silk or nylon.

Do you have many baseball-type caps? A collection from years of visiting places, including ballparks? They get dirty, don’t they? If you tried washing them in the washing machine, you may have noticed that the visor has lost its firmness. You can wash them by hand, of course. Another option is to put your cap in your dishwasher on the top shelf. Then, after you run this appliance, you’ll have a nice clean cap, intact.

For sinus problems of any kind, try rubbing mentholatum rub on the bottoms of your feet before going to bed. Put socks on over this or there may be a bit of a mess. You should find it easier to breathe while sleeping.
